The Municipal By-Election is on Monday, January 10, 2022. Voting stations are open from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm on Election Day.

Special Ballots (Mail-In)
The Town of Blackfalds is now accepting requests for special ballots. To receive a special ballot package, you can download it here or pick it up at the Civic Cultural Centre. Special ballots must be returned by dropping them at the Civic Centre drop-box or email them to the deputy returning officer.
Special ballot packages will be sent out once the ballots have been received by the Town of Blackfalds (after December 13), and must be requested by 4:30 p.m. on January 7. Mail-in ballot packages must be returned to the Civic Centre by mail or via the drop-box no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 10.

The local Returning Officer and Deputy Returning Officers are appointed by Town Council and these roles are responsible for all matters pertaining to the local organization and operation of the 2022 By-Election, and for enforcement of provisions of the Local Authorities Election Act.
All candidate information and nomination forms for the 2022 Municipal By-election are available online 24/7 or at the Town Office, 5018 Waghorn Street during regular business hours (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm).
