Brenda Dennis

Councillor

Brenda is the 4th generation of her family to live in the Blackfalds area. She and her husband Dale moved into town 36 years ago with their kids, Karla and Cody. Today, their family includes four grandchildren and one great-grandson - making it the 7th generation for the area.

Brenda has volunteered for various organizations including Girl Guides, Blackfalds Minor Hockey, DIDS, Citizens on Patrol, Ag Society, Fire Department, Stuff a Bus, Maskepatoon Crime Watch, Blackfalds Days and other groups. Her family is the organizer of Cody Dennis Memorial Hockey Game (in memory of Brenda and Dale's son, Cody). She also advocated for Highway 2A and Highway 587 intersection improvements.

Brenda has served as Town Councillor for two terms from 1992 – 1998, and one term 2021-2025 and now re-elected.  She has served on the following boards: Public Library Board, Lacombe Foundation and the Lacombe Solid Waste, Subdivision Development and Appeal Board, Recreation, Culture and Parks Board, Restorative Justice, Municipal Planning Commission, Economic Services Board, Policing Committee, and the Treaty 6 Land Acknowledgement Review Committee.

Brenda is looking forward to having the opportunity to continue to listen to the residents to benefit and enhance Blackfalds. Making thoughtful decisions that support the needs of our growing community. Look at the big picture of facilities, roadways and intersection planning, so fixing one thing doesn’t domino into a bigger problem down the road (literally).
