Serving on a board or committee is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise and abilities and to give back to your community.
Board and committee members represent community members who provide invaluable perspectives on issues that are important to Blackfalds' residents. These dedicated community volunteers are impartial, diverse, and independent, and bring varied skills, backgrounds and experience to the table.
In October of every year, Town Council appoints residents to boards and committees or as positions become vacant.

Each board and committee has their own bylaw and/or terms of reference which outlines the number of community volunteers and term lengths.
Blackfalds Health Professional Attraction & Retention Committee (BhPARC)
Currently accepting new members.
This group of community members works with individuals from Town Council and Administration and health service agencies.
What Does this Group Do?
Committee members will attend meetings as needed and participate in varied activities that correspond with their interests and abilities. Some of the Committee initiatives include promoting health provider opportunities in Blackfalds, hosting community tours, building relationships with community health providers and organizing appreciation activities, and providing support for their families.
Want to Help?
Many hands make light work and robust and diverse community representation on this Committee is welcome! In particular, residents who are seniors, well-connected to the local business community, newcomers to town, or who have a young family are invited to contact fcss@blackfalds.ca or 403.885.6247 for more information.
Council Remuneration Review Committee
Next committee will be required in the first quarter of 2025.
The 3 members of this committee serve to determine appropriate salary rates, per diem rates and expenses for the Mayor and Councillors.
Economic Development & Tourism Advisory Committee
Meets on the first or second Monday of January, March, May, September, and November at 7:00 pm
This advisory committee provides assistance with and recommendations on goals and strategies of the Economic Development Business Plan and related initiatives to the Economic Development Officer and Administration.

Advisory Board members contribute to ongoing improvements to the social well-being of individuals, families and community through preventative social programming by providing recommendations to Council and Town Administration on programs and services to enrich and strengthen quality of life.
